Intuition

Intuition is naturally active in you from the very beginning of your
life. Young children use their intuition, imagination and unconscious uninhibitedly as the powerful free flowing tools to create in both their waking lives as well as their dreaming states.
However, as you grow to become an adult your inner perception has
to compete more and more with outside influences. The beliefs, desires
and instructions of family, friends, teachers, coaches, TV, the Internet, the media, etc.,
are introduced to you all throughout your life.
Some of those
influences conflict with your natural instincts, eventually leading to
tension in the body, illness, or other indications of inner stress.
When our bodies don’t get regular exercise, they get out of shape. It’s the same thing is true with intuition. It can get out of shape from lack of use. Yet few adults ever develop their intuition.
So how does an adult develop intuition?
Astrology, the I Ching and Tarot are examples of ancient methods
of developing intuition. They focus on archetypal images. They
describe the seeds of transformation that exist in a current state. All of these require heavy right brain use. You can also develop intuition thru meditation, creative visualization, guided imagery, lucid dreaming even modern Shamanistic journeying & Shamanistic training.
Creative visualization refers to the practice of seeking to affect the outer world via changing one's thoughts. Creative Visualization is the basic technique underlying positive thinking.
The concept originally arose in the US with the nineteenth century New
Thought movement. One of the first Americans to practice & teach the
technique of creative visualization was Wallace Wattles. In his book The
Wisdom of Wallace D. Wattles - Including: The Science of Getting Rich,
The Science of Being Great & The Science of Being Well
He advocates creative visualization as the main technique for realizing one's goals; a practice that stems from the Hindu Monistic theory of the Universe that is subscribed to by the book. Creative visualization is the technique of using one's imagination to visualize specific behaviors or events occurring in one's daily & future life.
Since Wattles many authors have written about intuition as well as creative visualization.
