Tired, rundown. frazzled, too pooped to pop? Have you ever wondered why? The answer is simple -- ENERGY -- your body lacks vital energy, Chi Gong/Qigong.
Reasons Why People Study Qigong
1. They study Qigong to take charge of their health.
2. They study Qigong & Tao alchemy to explore sexual energy.
3. They study Qigong to have “high energy” experiences.
4. They study Qigong to get grounded.
5. They study Qigong & Tao because they are done with dogma and gurus.
The
independent spiritual types are attracted to Qigong and Tao. They love
God, but don’t want someone else telling them what God is. They don’t
trust Big Religion or priesthoods. They don’t trust big Master-egos
seeking to consume or enslave Little-ego followers. They do trust the
Life Force, as its something they can directly experience.
So how do you get more Chi? Simple breathe and move, while engaging your mind/awareness. You can learn to energize your body, mind & spirit with Chi Gong/Qigong at any age.
It has been proven that Chi Gong/Qigong can and does markedly lower blood press w/o meds, de-stresses your body and your life.
In my view Chi Gong/Qigong is an advanced energy movement system aligning breath, physical activity and awareness for mental, spiritual and corporeal health. This has been validated by western science in the last 30 years.
There are several ways to generate Chi in Chi Gong/Qigong a) by meditation -- Even 20 minutes a day. b) by dynamic movements while breathing, BEING AWARE and being in the moment of the energy shift, like the river flowing to the sea. Tai Chi Chuan is such a method.
Just about everyone in Western culture is trained from adolescence to live forward "move thru the moment," I.E. "waiting for the paycheck, where to go on vacation, when to leave
home to pick the kids up from school, what time to start dinner,
appointments, schedules, etc. By this I mean our thoughts are constantly focused on the future. With this way of living our lives, we are pulled out of the 'NOW', the
present time is forgotten. By living in forward time, we are not allowed
to remain centered within ourselves. We are constantly lurching
forward. We are kept off-balance. Learn to live and be in the NOW.
To learn/practice being in the moment watch a young child at play, they do it effortlessly. Cats are another source of being in the moment effortlessly. Yourself, lost in something is another example of being in the moment. In other words: smile, breathe, and go slowly.
Static Chi Gong/Qigong is performed by holding a certain posture, position or stance for a period of time. In some cases, static Chi Gong/Qigong bears some similarities to the practice of Yoga and its continuation in the Buddhist tradition.
Many systems of Chi Gong/Qigong training include the use of external agents. In Medical and Daoist methods, specialized food and drinks are prescribed to aid in the manipulation of Qi. In martial arts Chi Gong/Qigong the use of massage and various other forms of body conditioning are used to promote Qi flow. In some Chi Gong/Qigong systems, a Chi Gong/Qigong master can emit Qi or manipulate the flow of Qi within the practitioner as a form of treatment or to guide the flow of Qi.
Although still under review from a Western Medical stand point, Chi Gong/Qigong is an accepted treatment option in the fields of complementary and alternative medicine. Chi Gong/Qigong treatment is also used extensively in China as part of Traditional Chinese Medicine and has been included in the curriculum of Chinese universities and some American schools. Chi Gong/Qigong practice serves BOTH a preventive and curative function. This makes it unique. It is considered to be effective in improving the effects of many chronic conditions such as hypertension, diabetes, allergy, asthma, arthritis, degenerative disk disease, cancer, depression, irritable bowel syndrome, anxiety and addiction. Chi Gong/Qigong works by improving the practitioners’ immunity response, increasing a person’s self-healing and self-recovery capabilities and enhancing one’s self-regeneration potential.
Advanced Chi Gong/Qigong Techniques
Chi Gong/Qigong can also be stored in the major organs of the body, the endocrine system and the fascia tissue. These techniques take a mentor and should not be attempted by someone just reading a book as they can cause permanent physical damage to the body. These techniques were one of the major secrets of Shaolin Kung Fu.
